About Food Security Network
Who We Are
We are a culturally diverse coalition that cultivates a genuino, transparente, and liberating space to authentically and effectively address systemic food access in our community. We learn, grow and thrive by acknowledging inequities and oppressions while honoring our differences to build confianza and foster systems of shared poder and leadership.

We strive to create significant and sustainable systemic changes that reduce hunger and increase food justice in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
Goal 1: Empower Leaders
Build, expand, strengthen and sustain our Food Security Network.

-
Equip grassroots leaders to identify issues within current systems and brainstorm their own solutions to increase food access.
-
Inform partners, policy makers, businesses, philanthropists and others to better understand current food access issues in our community.
-
Grow trust, collaboration, and shared power amongst all stakeholders.
We are working to increase trust, transparency and collaboration between all those working
throughout the hunger relief system within Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Strengthening our network will lead to strengthening the
communities we serve.
Goal 2: Increase Access
Establish a more collaborative and just hunger relief system.

-
Provide promising, innovative and evidence-based strategies and practices to improve food access for our communities.
-
Mobilize shared action to improve food access through policies, practices and research.
-
Close resource gaps and reduce disparities within our hunger relief system.
We aim to improve access for those experiencing food access barriers (i.e. geography, race, economics, abilities, etc.) by distributing power, creating a culture of transparency and breaking down our silo'd nonprofit work. Creating a collaborative hunger relief system increases community well-being, access and decreases inefficiencies.
Goal 3: Equitable Policy
Develop and implement a community-led advocacy and policy agenda.

-
Analyze persistent disparities in our food system and share findings and tools with community members, decision makers and partners.
-
Advance changes to local, state, and federal policies and systems that will improve food access for all.
-
Undertake community review processes to ensure recommended policy and systems changes are equitable and supported by grassroots stakeholders

To truly reduce hunger within our communities we need to work on root causes to hunger. We will work with our community and collectively forge a policy agenda to deploy ongoing systems improvements to address structural inequities and reduce food insecurity.
